The king looks at his sons running around his feet and wonders, ‘Which one will kill me when I am old?’
The cobbler looks at his sons running around his feet and wonders, ‘Which one will care for me when I am old?’
The king wishes he were the cobbler, and the cobbler wishes he were a king.
Every man wishes for what he does not have. Very few wish for the right things.

Beautiful and evocative. You are a fine story-teller, and I hope to continue to sit at your feet and learn the craft. I hope you realize how important your gift is in the world we share today.

PS - along with my blog, drop by http://benoverby.wordpress.com for even more parables. I believe the two of you will find much in common.
Nick, thank you for such a powerful comment. I also want to thank you for recommending me to benoverby.
I love seeing that there are people struggling to make straight the path of the Lord.
